History

Prior to it's founding as United Aegis after The War of Thorns, the organization was known as Aegis Academy; founded by Kee Marlfox and Zael as an educational center focused on providing survival and career training to a larger audience in the wake of the Legion's defeat. However, the vision failed to take off and reach the membership minimums for accreditation.Rather than see their members dismissed, those who could serve were contracted as security staff for the Weekly Stormwind Market, where the grey and white of their uniform began to be seen as safety and assurance. In the wake of the War of Thorns, it became clear there was a gap in the aid systems available on Azeroth. While the armies of both factions prepared for counter offensives and shored up their defenses, countless citizens were left in the direct path of destruction, or made homeless by the loss of Teldrassil, and later, Undercity. The Argent Crusade had their hands full assisting both factions in the fight against Queen Azshara and N'zoth.Aegis Academy became United Aegis, a bulwark of beings from all walks of life, extending a helping hand to fellow Azerothians to rebuild and recover; settling refugees, assisting in supply drops to remote outposts and assisting in the protection of supply caravans from other organizations.Security contracts and escort missions took up the bulk of the group's energy, markets allowing the meeker members a chance to gain some confidence, and hone and sell their crafts and wares. In the short period of rest attained after the factions defeated N'zoth, United Aegis assisted in the formation of the World's Faire Carnival, a reminder of what great things can be done when we all work together.

Missions

After the destruction of Teldrassil and the Battle for Lordaeron, United Aegis had much to do. Still settling and aiding the refugees of Darnassus, they were spread thin aiding the Forsaken in finding safe shelter in Orgrimmar. Those early days strained the organization's staff and coffers, but were a valuable lesson to all, and a harsh realization; they would need more helping hands both within and outside the organization itself.Keely was able to find scattered assistance in Kul Tiras, while Zael was able to drum up willing Druids to assist. The addition of Pandaren members began to fill their ranks with faction-agnostic aid and news began to spread.Ren'dorei, who found themselves at odds with both Quel'Thalas and the Alliance found aid and shelter within the ranks of the Aegis, and many were invaluable during the end days of the War, when N'zoth and his allies began to twist the minds of the Factions in his favor.Uldum and The Vale
Black Empire forces began to assault Titan facilities across Azeroth, splitting Aegis forces yet again. Many sought to defend the beauty of Pandaria, while yet others trekked the vast desert of Uldum to keep the darkness at bay.
In Pandaria, United Aegis personnel set up medical tents and fallback posts to provide rest, healing and nutrition to those on the front lines, while in Uldum, those who were battle-ready took the fight to the Empire forces and aided the Uldum Accord in stopping Amathet from Re-Originating Azeroth.Return of the Scourge
In the wake of the shattered veil and Helm of Domination, the bonds of death began to weaken on Azeroth, leading to the rise of Scourge attacks; first in Northrend, then spreading to major population centers.
Aegis personnel split into delegations, sent to Stormwind and Orgrimmar, sometimes under threat of conscription, to help citizens escape to safety. Both delegations assisted in the destruction of contaminated foodstuffs and the purification of watersheds. The Worgen of United Aegis participated in a 'Bite Drive', aiding those who wished to willingly take Goldrinn's Curse to spare themselves the threat of Undeath. Many Rituals of Balance were performed, and the aid of the Cenarion Circle was invaluable.Return to Lordaeron
When the Forsaken returned to Lordaeron, many followed. The Forsaken had been betrayed and routed from their home, and many members chose to aid them of their own accord, with, or without organizational support.
The Primalists
Once again, Azeroth was beset by chaos and violence, and United Aegis rose to defend it. Many of its Shaman and Druids stepped forward to pave the way for Aegis medical tents to be erected, camp kitchens to fire up, and the Primalists to be driven back.
The Dragon Isles
The reawakening of the Dragon Isles saw United Aegis setting out to offer their aid and support to the citizens of this forgotten land. The Dragonscale Expedition, The Tuskarr of The Waking Shores and Iskaara, and the Centaur all requested aid from any who could answer the call, and United Aegis did so with enthusiasm.
Defeating Djaradin, befriending elementals, saving stranded Centaur foals, repelling Primalists, and eventually, facing down an old foe; the Void. The Dream
Those who could enter the Dream shut down Primalist efforts to destroy the budding World Tree, scouting, planning, and putting their ideas into motion to take down a portal into the Firelands.
Four scouts lost their lives on the Dragon Isles, and their names shall ever be remembered, inscribed in memory with all of our fallen.

Khaz Algar
As Dalaran prepared to teleport to Khaz Algar, United Aegis assisted in the evacuation and security of the floating city. All but one member left before the teleportation took place, and once it had, and the denizens of Azj-Kahet attacked, that member was thought lost.
After the city's destruction, the organization began to work in earnest. Digging few survivors from the rubble, it became clear this was not a search and rescue mission, but a recovery mission, and morale was low.The Dracthyr and other magically inclined aided the Kirin Tor, Sunreavers and Silver Covenant in cleansing the leaching arcane energy from the city's ruins.Hallowfall & The Arathi
The Void yet again reared deep within Azeroth, and United Aegis traveled to Hallowfall to assist. Several half-elven and former Stromgardian members felt inclined to assist the Arathi expedition, and many others helped to drive back Ansurek's forces.
When infighting erupted on the surface in the Arathi Highlands, a small delegation was sent to aid what seemed like a breakdown of communication and re-establish peace. But it soon became clear a sinister hand was at play with the rise of the Red Dawn.United Aegis personnel retreated, allowing Stromgarde and Hammerfall to combat the Red Dawn unimpeded, and instead focused on assisting the Witherbark Trolls to rebuild after aggression from both sides. To Be Continued

Structure

United Aegis' leadership functions on a 5 member council system, each division head able to rely on the others for support, and carrying the same weight as the Director when it comes to matters that effect the organization. The active division heads each have a co-leader to discuss division matters with as well, ensuring a fair and balanced workload.

Director Zael Marlfox (GM)

While on paper Mister Marlfox is the 'leader' of United Aegis, he functions as part of a five member council. Calm and diplomatic, Zael has seen his fair share of war, and seeks to offer the support needed for others to navigate the unrest that strikes Azeroth at every opportunity.

Guardian Division: Field Specialists & Peacekeeping
Overseen by TL Tommy and OL Algie, the combat and security aspect of the Guardians focuses on peacekeeping and the safeguarding of other personnel or wards of the organization. The majority of our field mission teams come from this aspect of the Guardian Division, and comprise many skilled personnel of all evasive, defensive and offensive schools.
They also see to the promotion and assignment of Infiltrators, a smaller group within the division who are trusted with additional duties beyond those of Scouts or Guardians. Capable of making snap decisions mid-mission, these personnel are often the first to respond when our Scouts return with reports.

Advisor Vol Duskwhisper

Once thought of as 'second-in-command', Vol formerly oversaw the recruitment and allocation of personnel and served as a liaison between the Illidari, United Aegis, and other organizations on Azeroth. He has since stepped back to take care of his partners and growing family.

Technology

((Communicators drawn by HoweNomad.))

The Kyberite Interface Network - Inclusive Communications system, or KINetIC devices, are the main form of long-distance communication for the organization.Created by Innovations TL Kybervath and Innovation Specialist Hazeli Shiguka, these magically attuned 'sending stones' are a high-tech, updated version of the old 'amber comms' of previous years.'Printed' using a liquid arcane resin, they are a single unit capable of physical and magical interfacing. Cameras, holo-projectors and an intra-net system keep all personnel aware, informed and equipped, while access to the greater media systems available across Azeroth allow for entertainment and informational access.

((Pylon drawn by keepsakecrow.))

Functioning off a network inspired by the communications pylons of Dracthyr past, they allow the group to communicate over vast distances at-will, sharing information via voice, imagery and text nearly instantaneously. These pylons have been meticulously placed across Azeroth after intense negotiations with local governments and native populations. Intense research was done with the aid of the Blue Dragonflight to ensure the pylons would not draw from or interrupt the local leylines.Their locations are heavily warded and usually positioned near small outposts, often used as beacons for places of safety and rest for Scouts and Infiltrators in the field.Communications weaken, but do not falter entirely in other dimensions due to range extenders and portable temporary pylons that can be deployed by mission teams as necessary.

Shieldcrest Isle

As far back as Lady Proudmoore's villainous actions in Dalaran, and the magocratic state's faltering neutrality over the years, United Aegis knew it would need to someday establish a safe place for its mission to continue. For many years, that safe place has been Aegis Hall, situated on a campus outside of Dawn's Blossom, in the Jade Forest region of Pandaria, and the Hall remains the center of operations to this day. However, more was needed after Dalaran's destruction, and after many months of negotiation, Shieldcrest Isle was secured; a mountainous island off of Pandaria's eastern coast.Shieldcrest Isle is now ready to accept residents, and a small internal economy is slowly establishing. Flight and shipping routes are maintained, businesses are starting to build up and flourish, and housing plots are being built up as weeks and months progress. It will take time and effort to turn the Isle into a home, but with everyone pitching in, the future looks bright.
